Thanksgiving
In November, the students learned about the holiday Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is an American holiday at the end of November. On this day, families get together for a large meal and give thanks to the important things in their life. The students learned about typical Thanksgiving food like turkey, gravy, cranberies, mashed potatoes, corn bread and pumpkin pie. We wrote example thank you notes too. Also, we did an arts and craft activity to celebrate Thanksgiving. The students outlined their hands to make a turkey. The students then colored in their turkey drawings. We learned a lot about Thanksgiving!

Healthy Foods in Andalucia
With the second grade, we made a map of Andalucia and attached pictures of healthy food that can be found in each province. Students took turns coloring the poster and putting the pictures of food in the correct places. While working on this poster, students learned the English names like Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, and Seville. Next to the map, there is a description of the most popular foods in English with ingredients. Some foods that were included were cous-cous, olive oil, migas, fried fish, wine, and paella.

Halloween
Halloween was an activity for the whole school. All of the students dressed up like ghosts wearing black bags with ghosts attached. The students also wore pumpkin masks. The children enjoyed making their own outfits to celebrate halloween. Even the faculty dressed up that day. The children showed off their costumes on the playground and got lots of candy. Each class participated in halloween activities including arts and crafts and songs. The first and second graders created a poster with ghosts, pumpkins, and bats-typical halloween figures. Halloween was a fun celebration for both the teachers and the students.

My School
A topic the first grade talked about was "My School". They learned school subjects, different parts of a school (such as the classroom, hallways, etc.), and the alphabet. The subjects they learned were Physical Education, Music, English, Maths, and Science. Additional vocabulary related to the school includes teacher, playground and toilets. The children had fun singing the alphabet in English and creating a poster to hang in the hallway.

Good Manners
Our first topic this year was . During this topic we learned proper classroom manners. In the classroom it is important to...
1. Wait your turn
2. Use "please" and "thank you"
3. Listen to your teacher and your friends
4. Cooperate with others
5. Sit down properly
6. Tidy up
Some other good manners we talked about are remembering to use our indoor voices, be polite, and take turns. We need to walk, not run in the hallways. In the classroom we put our hand up to ask or answer a question. We also share with our classmates. We always listen to others and do our work quietly. The students try to always to do their best. We learned many important lessons in the topic!
